DISPLAYS THAT A PERSON IS NOT DEFINED BY WHAT THEY DO, BUT WHO THEY ARE WITHIN!

 pastedGraphic.pdf

Harry Moreland was the second son to an abusive Colonel who ruled his home with an iron fist and a sweet, but timid mother. His brother Bobby, was into sports while Harry was always reading, drawing and most especially, taking photographs much to the chagrin of the Colonel. As a senior in college, Harry won a prestigious award for his documentary, Shattered Direction, depicting women in the prostitution and U.S. slave-trade, and felt it was his calling to direct films that make a difference in people’s lives. But once he gets to Hollywood, he realizes that it’s not about how much talent you have, but who you know, and he doesn’t know anyone. Just like actresses hoping to make the big-screen, Harry soon finds himself lured by the money and promises in the porn industry. Every step down this road takes him in a further direction than he wants to be, causing him to spiral down a destructive path. Edward Dreyfus offers up an extremely complex and emotionally charged character in Harry that is easily relatable. Through a numerous series of choices, the author portrays how easy it is to get steered off course. A thoroughly thought-provoking read, Shattered Direction displays that a person is not defined by what they do, but who are they are within.
