BOOK DEVELOPMENT

Our experts will help you develop your finished manuscript by reviewing the finished work with an eye toward improving the content regarding plot, subplot, and character and scene development. We help draw attention to flaws in the book, and will make recommendations on how they may be corrected. This service is handled on a read-by-read basis, meaning, there will be an additional charge for each time the manuscript is reviewed.

PLEASE NOTE: This is the first stage in the editorial review process. Once a manuscript has gone through an adequate development process, it then needs to be professionally edited, and then proofread. Each stage MUST be performed by DIFFERENT individual to have a truly print ready manuscript.

BOOK EDITING

Ensures that the manuscript meets style standards and corrects grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Checks facts and may suggest different words. Verifies headings, statistics, data in graphs, and footnote entries. For fiction, the manuscript editor will check for consistency and logic, and will read with the needs of the audience in mind.

PLEASE NOTE: The Editor does NOT help develop the story, characters, scenes, or plot, like a Book Developer does. This is the second stage in the editorial review process. Once a manuscript has gone through an adequate development process, then has been professionally edited, it then needs to be proofread. Each stage MUST be performed by DIFFERENT individual to have a truly print ready manuscript.

BOOK PROOFREADING

A proofreader detects and corrects production errors of text or art. The proofreader is the last person to check a manuscript before publication.

PLEASE NOTE: The Proofreader does NOT edit the book or help develop the story, characters, scenes, or plot. This is the third and final stage in the editorial review process. Once a manuscript has gone through an adequate development process, has been professionally edited, and proofread, only then can it be considered ready for publication. Each stage MUST be performed by DIFFERENT individual to have a truly print ready manuscript.
